Waggle Tails | Dog & Puppy Training Perth

The first month or so we had our puppy Holly, Kelly came for an in-home consultation with me, my partner, and Holly. Holly was biting far harder and more frequently than I'd ever experienced with other puppies, and pretty much everything I had tried at that point seemed to inadvertantly encourage the biting.Kelly was incredibly helpful. She had a variety of tricks and techniques for getting her to chew on more appropriate things than hands and ankles, and also how to handle situations such as getting Holly to give back an item she'd somehow obtained and absolutely shouldn't have, and what to do when she's already latched onto something and didn't seem keen to let go.Things did get better quite quickly after that, however I think a large part of it is due to the Waggle Tails puppy socialisation classes. Kelly didn't try to sell us on them at all during the home consult (actually, I don't think she mentioned them at all), but it became pretty obvious to me during the consult and sometime after that Holly puts the 'extra' into 'extravert', and a lot of the biting was possibly due to her not getting to play with other dogs since she wasn't fully vaccinated as yet. We had been going to puppy kindy, but it didn't really give her the opportunity to play with other dogs.I cannot recommend the puppy socialisation classes enough - the class format tends to involve teaching you how to do on-lead greetings of other dogs and what behaviour to watch out for, some training (e.g. look, touch, drop, etc), then an off-lead play component. Don't be disheartened if your dog is completely and utterly distracted the first couple of sessions you go! Holly was off the charts distracted and I thought we were going to be the owners of That Really Excited Dog forever, but it got better! (Just remember to bring sausage or chicken to keep their attention).Holly is still over-the-top confident, but she now behaves really well and plays nicely with other dogs, to the point a local dog walker took her on as a client for group dog park outings during the week despite the fact Holly will likely be a fair bit heavier than most of her other clients.

I enrolled my new puppy into the puppy preschool program with Kelly Brown's training program. The online training modules are comprehensive and easy to follow. The in person puppy preschool sessions with Kelly and Alex have been great as they are both very knowledgeable and they also ensure that all puppies have a positive socialisation experience. I am happy with the program and I would highly recommend the program to other puppy guardians.

I’ve now had 2 puppies go to Waggle Tails for their puppy training and I have to say Kelly and her team are incredibly knowledgeable about dog behaviours. They were able to help read my dogs behaviour which allowed me to rework my activities with them. They have definitely improved in their behaviours. They also provided me with different strategies and great tips to try. I would highly recommend Kelly and her team for any dog/puppy training if you need. Kelly and her team are friendly, fantastic and passionate about what they do which made it great and easy.

It was a lovely experience for my puppy, Apollo, and me. Kelly and her team were very helpful and knowledgeable.Apollo learnt a lot about socialising with others pups and I learnt a lot regarding how to train him to be the best behaved dog. I highly recommend.Thanks Kelly and team :-)

UPDATED: Nothing on enrolment stated I wouldn’t have Kelly training. A simple question had the instructor reply with I don’t know was in relation to water sharing between two dogs (not medicated).Waste of money and time. Sorry Kelly I am sure if you did the session, it would have been worth going. However today was a waste of money and time and I didn’t come out with anything that would support me to go back. No communication on leaving as the new class was coming as I exited. Which you knew this in-turn you wouldn't have texted me. The conversation of my Sundays Class is inaccurate. Most families have two dogs which is standard question. Kelly if you’re not going to present at the class you can’t charge your cost and put an assistant in your place. It wasn’t medical leave, this was planned leave. Your assistants have 2 year’s experience doesn’t come close to your own experience and without disclosing it to the purchaser at time of payment is a ACCC matter.And no time did I decline your service to help. You declined your own offer. Please remove your reply and word it in a manner that supports customer resolution in comparison to making me sound like I am the person who effected your business. Sadly if it is not removed I will upload our text messages. So the choice is yours.

Terrible. I paid for the entire puppy package, and I found the socialisation sessions so stressful. It was jam packed with so many pups and it was indoors and echos were so loud. Just not the best enrivonment to socialise a puppy well in such a really full on environment. Kelly did not run the sessions, even though she features on her website.We only attended two sessions and then abandoned and continued with a different provider who was so very much better, and at least they were present and conducted the training. We did not bother asking for a refund.

Absolute highlight of my day attending with my puppy Maggie. The ladies were so informative and supportive to ensure all dogs and owners felt comfortable. We’re looking forward to attending our second session this weekend ☺️

My pup has recently graduated puppy pre-school and I highly recommend it!With Kelly’s guidance my puppy transformed from being scared and anxious around other dogs (nervous toileting, barking and shaking), to being calm and confident, working through various exercises and off-lead playing. The change was remarkable.The course is great for safe puppy socialisation but also for the huge amount of information in all the online modules. This format allows you to learn what you need to do, practice, then trouble shoot any challenges with the experts and go back and revisit lessons once you are ready, or a new challenge emerges.The entire process was fun, positive and has left me feeling empowered to take away the principles from this course and apply them in new situations and environments going forward.Thank you, Kelly and team, for such a wonderful experience!

I’ve attended one puppy socialisation session so far and found it very helpful. It was actually a surprise to see that my puppy wasn’t as extroverted around the other puppies as we expected her to be. She may not have had as much fun as I thought she would, but I am glad we are giving her the chance to build her confidence and learn appropriate doggy socialisation skills. Looking forward to trying again next week!

Kelly provided excellent information through the online modules and a safe face-to-face space for my puppy to learn, grow and interact with other puppies. I would recommend this class for all new puppy pawrents!
